Home, AGAIN~

The kids have been reunited with daddy!  All is well.  I am so tired.  I will blog something more interesting tomorrow.

Last day...

We met up with friends from NY days and went to the children's museum.  Then home to spend the last few hours with grandma and grandpa.  We take off EARLY tomorrow~

Back to grandpa!

We came back to grandpa's house for the rest of our stay.  Both were very happy about that!

Cousin time!

The kids have had a week and a half of really great cousin time!  I am so thankful for Darrin's sisters and dad for all their help!  Of course their significant others too!  It made going to Mexico perfect knowing the kids were in such capable, wonderful hands!

Today we went to a cool pool.  It was a perfect day!  Check out my dare devil son!

Pioneer celebrations!!

Started with a parade down town Salt Lake where President Monson waved at Dalin.  Very neat. 

Then we came up to the Ogden rodeo where they crowned Miss Rodeo Utah and honored the two men that shot Bin Ladin.  Also neat!  I love me a good rodeo!!!!!!

Reverting back to a baby...

I looked over at Halle and she was laying in the bouncer of the new baby my friend Tricia had.  I wish I had gotten a picture.  It was funny.  Then I go to find her and she is upstairs in the swing!  I had to grab my camera for that!  She looked so big in it!!!

11:45 pm. She woke up when she heard me, smiled big and reached for me! I swooped her up and gave her a massive hug and she held on tight and wouldn't let go! A silent moment I will never forget!

Our last night here in paradise.  It was such a fun trip.  We had the best dinner so far of all of our dinners here in Cabo.  We had great laughs when we all performed couples skits.  I got great gifts for all those at home who helped out with the kids and animals!  None of us are ready for this to be over :( but sure excited to see my babies!!

The hype about the 405 shut down was over kill and completely unnecessary.  There was virtually no one on the road.  That being said we still drove down to the Marriott by the airport so we could be closer for our flight in the morning.  We are all bunking in one room.  Like an old fashioned sleep over!

Oh man, I had a hard time leaving this morning.  And even now as I sit here at home, I am very melancholy.  I miss them terribly already.  8 more days to go!  UGH!

They are more than fine though!  Having a blast in fact!  Halle is grandpa's shadow and she could care less that I left.  That made it very nice for me!

Am I crazy?!

I get a botch perm, and cry over it.  Did I learn a lesson?  NO!  I will try anything once!  This time I got eyelash extensions!  (Thanks to my friend Suzanne who showcased her beauties on her blog...) 

Good news is I LOVE EM!!!

It really feels like my second home here! I am getting to know it so well! Halle is in love with grandpa! Thank goodness! It will be much easier to leave! D cried today as we pulled off cuz he will be away from them for more than 2 weeks! Dalin cried hard too! Off to bed... Gotta get my lashes done in the morning! I am a glutten for punishment!!!!

Breakthrough!

Today Halle just walked into the gym day care center without even looking back!  Normally I have to walk her in and ditch her while she cries.  It was monumental since I am about to leave her for 8 days!  Off to Utah!  Pt one of my trip!

Getting anxious!

Kids and I leave on Wed for Utah.  I am dropping them off for 8 days while D and I go to Mexico.  I am excited, don't get me wrong, but I am also full of anxiety.  Haven't left Halle bear yet!  UGH~  Any advice on how to calm my worries?

Cupcake lovers dream come true...

Or not!

Kim was called to be a judge at a cupcake contest.  I was with her when she called back and I told her to ask if they need another judge?  I couldn't contain my excitement at the prospect of eating a lot of cupcakes.  They said sure, so today we went to a little Catholic church in Simi Valley that was holding their annual carnival and we participated in judging a cupcake contest.  

There were 27 entries!  What???  I can handle sweets better than most and even I was nervous!  It is with great sadness that I report, not a one was good!  So tragic!!  I am spoiled big time by BAKE YOU HAPPY!!  By cupcake 13 I was sick!  They gave us a break after 13 and I had to go buy a cheeseburger and fries, just to offset the sweetness!  

When we got to cupcake 25 I couldn't take another bite.  It didn't help that my least favorite cupcake is lemon and there were about 8 lemon ones in the contest!  But oh they were just bad!  

I was in a coma for about 4 hours after I got home...  I texted Kim and she was too.  We both were struggling to get up.  I finally got myself up and going so I could run to the grocery store and get food for my poor kids.  Man, I thought that today would be a dream, but it was bordering on nightmare!  At least I had fun being with Kim!

This was only 13.  We only took a bite of each cupcake and got to put the rest of it in a box to bring home. ..

This was the only one we sort of liked.  It took 3rd place!  We are completely drunk on sugar!!

**********************************HAIR UPDATE...

It LOOKS normal, but it is fried!!!  I am giving it as much love as possible before I decide if I need to hack it off?!

If I look pissed it is cuz I am!  

Lessons learned...

So my good friend Carrie blogged, tweeted, instagramed and kept on bragging about this perm she got called a digital perm.  It looked great!  Just what I would want if I got a perm.  It is different from a regular perm in that they don't put solution on the scalp just down at the bottom of the curler and then they hook it up to heat rods and heat it!  It is only done in Asian salons.  Mainly Korean salons... that should have been my first warning!

I texted my hair girl and asked her about it having already booked an appointment mind you, and she said she was skeptical!  She, like everyone else I had mentioned it to, had never heard of one and she warned me that perms are bad with hair that is colored like mine!  I didn't listen!

I went this morning and even when I got there and my gut told me to run, I didn't.  None of them spoke very much English and they didn't understand me at all!  They kept pointing out to me over and over how damaged my hair was!  They wanted to put a treatment on it before, yada yada, I thought okay they must know what they are doing... time comes to put my hair in curlers and I could smell the solution that took me back to 8th grade, being my last perm.  I got sick!  I knew this was not going to be good.  I kept waiting for the digital perm "machine" and it never came!  They had my hair in perm rods and under the drier before I could say anything...

As I sat with neutralizing solution in my hair, I asked her about the digital perm, even showed her a picture?  I said mine is a regular perm.  She said no, different perm.  She had no idea what I was saying... I was at a loss.  I just had to pray that they knew something that I didn't.

NOPE.  They took it out and it was a spiral perm just like I had in 8th grade.  Only difference being it was a immediately damaged due to my over processed hair already.  It felt like straw.  She kept trying to bounce it up and make the curl more prominent, and I fighting tears just said I have to go.  I got up, paid, and left.  Yes, I paid for it!  UGH!!!

 I drove straight to Naimes and spent another 150 dollars in shampoo, leave in treatments and masks for my hair, I knew what had to be done if I had any chance of saving my hair.  I cried almost the whole way home.  What had I done?!  I got home and washed my hair repeatedly and left a mask on for 15 min.

It is almost gone, the curl that is, and is pretty relaxed, but it left a wake of destruction behind.  My hair is falling out, breaking BAD and it looks like straw!  I don't know if I will be able to repair it.  I may be finally cutting my hair off like I have wanted to but haven't had the guts!  I will give it a little time and a little TLC to see if I can repair it.

I am feeling better, but just so mad I didn't listen to my gut and just say no thank you!  OH well.  I will try just about anything once, but I don't feel like I tried what I wanted to try.  Will I have the guts to try an actual digital perm?!  NOPE~

About when I realized this is not the perm I wanted...

No curl left and you can tell the texture is bad!  I will post one later when I actually style my hair, if I can bear too!
