Sleep deprived...

I have not been sleeping.  AT ALL!  It sucks.  I have been getting max four hours at night.  I wake up with a raging headache.  I don't know what to do.  Starting tomorrow night, D is gone for four days... so sleep won't happen for another week or so!  UGH~  Anyone want to move in??

Funny morning...

So on Monday one of the chickens didn't come back to the coop that night and we looked all over for her.  She was nowhere!  She showed up the next morning and we were all glad.  Tuesday night, same thing, took off and was nowhere to be found.  I was really thinking there is no way she could make it out two nights in a row... sure enough was there on Wed morning.  So now I am really wondering where she is going... on Thursday the boys (Charlie and Dalin found a bush and under the bush were about 6 eggs.  Found where she was going!  So this morning I went to look for her under the bush where they found the eggs and nothing.  But I heard her and she was two bushes down, I pulled it back and she looked up at me and then stood up and walked away.  This is what was there!  12 eggs!  JEEZ~ they only lay like 1-2 a day in the coop.  Guess she wanted to be alone to lay her eggs.  

So then I come in to tell Lupe and she comes out with me to see the eggs, leaving Laney in her high chair and food on the table.  When we came back in, Laney had pulled the table cloth over enough to get her food and she was feeding herself!  We laughed so hard!  

I needed these laughs today.  This day is always a tough one.  On this evening 22 years ago, my mom passed away.  She suffered for so long so somewhere in the bag of feelings, there was a small sense of relief.  I will always be able to recall the feeling when I got the phone call.  I rushed to where she was in her bed in the hospital and layed beside her til they made me leave.  I made many promises to her that night and I live my days trying to keep them.  It was a night I will never forget!  A night that changed me forever!  Love you mom.  Miss you everyday!

I sang in church today.  It went well.  Aubrey gave a talk.  She did great!  We got to visit with friends and celebrate a dear friends birthday.  Nice day!

Baseball days...

Dalin has had a great season.  His team the Angels are in first place so every game that we play now is super intense.  We played the Dodgers today and they were in 2nd place.  We tied.  It was such a good game!  Since they didn't win they didn't advance.  So we are still in first!  Go ANGELS!

Grandma and grandpa came to stay for the weekend.  It will be a busy one.  We saw 42 tonight!  I loved it!  Then the cowboy festival and Dalin's game.  I am so happy to have them here!

The hills are alive...

I had the opportunity to play a part of a lifetime today!  I was asked to participate in the women in history assembly at school.  Sam thought I would make a great Maria Von Trapp.  And boy did I.  Accent and all!  The one that sounded very australian!  It was fun!  My kids didn't know I was doing it so just to see their faces was great.  And I got good feedback from the kids.  They are tough critics you know!!!!

So happy to have met this lovely lady.  Well re introduced I suppose.  I did meet her a time or two in high school, but thanks to Denise she and I have become great friends.  I am so thankful!  Love you~
