I realized I didn't post about my night one week ago. D was at work. I finally fell asleep about 12:30 and at 12:50 the house alarm goes off. At first I didn't hear the alarm, but the phone rang and that is when I heard the alarm... I can't tell you what happened to my heart at that point, but it almost beat out of my chest. ADT was on the phone asking if I needed police? Zone 4, the patio door had been triggered. I gathered strength to go slowly go downstairs to assess the situation! I remember I was crying as the ADT guy was assuring me he was there all the while trying to get me to answer the security questions so he could make sure I wasn't the intruder... I couldn't remember the password. That is how scared I was. When I got downstairs the first thing I did was open the front door?! HUH? In my freaked out mind if someone was in my kitchen or family room, I could run out front really fast and scream so my neighbors could hear me... DUMB I realize that now, but when you are in the moment it is funny what your mind will think of. I made it to the alarm panel turned off the very loud alarm, and quickly checked to see that the patio door was in fact slightly cracked, but thanks to my anal attentive ways, I had the wood down so the door couldn't open. Sigh of relief number one. I went back upstairs while ADT was still on the line and called Darrin from my cel phone. I was just about hysterical! He was very worried. I finally got off with ADT after proving it was me and assuring them I was ok. With D on the phone I finally got the guts to peak outside the patio door. Alice was so sacked out in her dog house that I had to bang on the door to get her to wake up. GREAT watch dog! UGH! Aubrey came downstairs because she heard the alarm. She could see how scared I was so she got scared. D helped talked me down off the ledge. I was out of my mind. I turned on every light in the house and went back upstairs. I sat up straight in my bed until about 3 when I put my head down finally. Then at around 6 I fell asleep.
I had just gotten to the point where I could actually sleep the nights D worked, and this incident set me back about 7 years at least! I am kind of mad that I didn't think to report it. But in my head whoever it was was long gone and got a good scare out of a very loud alarm and a door jam! Sigh of relief number 2.
Anyone who knows me and knows how crazy scared I get in a house alone, knows this was probably one of the scariest nights of my life! Please never again!
Here I am... the last known woman to have a blog! I decided to call it a journal though and might not even let anyone see it... so is that really blogging?

Camp Baywatch lives on...
Back when we were on the show, Camp Baywatch was new. It was the brain child of our director and creator. He really wanted to give inner city kids a chance to come to camp. A week away from their lives, some of which were very bleak and mundane to say the least. My favorite part about volunteering with the camp kids was seeing them learn how to swim. Most of them had never even seen the water let alone be in it. It was amazing to see them become swimmers by the end of the week. I still volunteer every summer. The foundation has a new name now... dumb licensing... but it still goes on every year and this year a large fundraiser was held to raise money to send more kids to camp. It took place at the SM pier and had to do with biking for 100 miles!! NO I didn't do it. I pretended that I was for photo ops and I rode about 5 miles, but I stood by and cheered my other cast mates on! It was a great day!!

I love the desert
D and I brought the kids down to palm desert for the night to stay with grandma and grandpa... D has to meet up with the youth in the morning for trek! The yummy warm wind in the evening is my favourite thing about the desert!
